The Greatest Custom Weapon Guide Ever! -
12-27-2010, 12:59 AM
Want a custom weapon that makes people drool and beg you for boosts? Afraid if you make a weapon you'll end up overpaying for some feature you didn't know about?
Well here is your answer, Just follow this handy guide to learn exactly how to make your dream weapon, and get the most out of your donation.
Here is a little overview of the Guide Setup:
First the weapon maker, and all the stat figures.
Second the Shirt tab, and how to use it
Third, the Upgrade tab
Fourth, the Other Tab
Finally, how to get the best out of your custom, a must read for everyone!
Before you get started!!!!
ALWAYS make your custom weapon on the weekend, you will get 10% off the total price! That is 10% more stats for your Donation!
Part 1: Custom Weapons
This is your basic custom weapon interface, for making 1h, 2h, staffs, daggers, and range weapons/idols/etc.
To begin, Type your character's name into the first box, then select the realm your character is located on, this is very important, otherwise you will not receive your weapon.
Once that is through, you can choose a name for your weapon, Same rules as chat applies, no profanity, swears, inapropriate names please.
Next you choose the Weapon type, Color, and Style (more on this later) Type in a description if you want, then move on to the fun part, stats.
The number one thing you can do to increase your weapon's speed, is to choose 1.0 Speed!!! It only costs 7$ and will greatly effect your dps ingame.
Also!!! Make sure your minimum and maximum damages are the same, if you have 0-400k damage, you'll end up with 200k dps instead of 400! do not forget!
Then of course you can choose your damage, but keep in mind, that elemental damages are more expensive than physical.
The additional stats are:
Stamina - Increases your Hitpoints, 14 per 1 stamina
Intellect - Increases your mana/Spellpower
Agility - Increases your Dodge % (no Cata chart atm)
Strength - Has different uses per class, check ingame "Base stats" on your character screen to see.
Spirit - Increases HP regeneration when not in combat
Hit rating - Increases the chance to hit an opponant
Critical strike - Increases the chance of getting a critical strike
Haste - Increases your Attack speed, Cap is 3300 @ lvl 85
There is also a pulldown tab for Dodge and parry rating, as well as expertise.
Dodge is cheaper to get through agility, Parrry rating increases your parry %, and expertise increases your chance of hitting through both parry and dodge, very useful against rogue/dk.
Next is very important for spellcasters, Spellpower! I dont think this needs explanation, same as damage for meleers.
Armor penetration... lets you hit harder through high armor classes, with a cap of 1500. (doesnt work on cata)
Resilience is a very useful stat, reduces the damage you take from just about everything! and reduces the chance you will be hit by critical strikes. (4k cap on cata)
The final option is for gem sockets, There will be more on this later.
Those are all the stats, when your finished, you can click confirm to buy, be careful, the price goes up very fast when your playing with stats.
Part 2: Custom Shirts
This section is for anyone looking to toss out their Novice shirts for a nice upgrade.
Just like with the weapon maker you have most of the same options, char, realm, name... and then stats to fill that shirt with custom goodness.
There are a few things you should know before accepting though.
1. Make sure the speed is on 3.9 BEFORE clicking the shirt tab, otherwise your paying for speed, and getting nothing.
2. there isnt a pull down tab for your weapon shape, so read the final section of this guide to pick one if you care.
3. There is no Description tab for this one, if you want to add one, please email the admins when you make the custom, or use the description box provided under the stats.
4. It is now possible for all players to purchase then customize multiple shirts.
The BUFF is capped at 9x, meaning you can have 3x 10@ shirts... 1 10@ shirt 2 9@ shirts and 2 8@ shirts... or whatever, as long as the total isnt over 9x buffs.
IF YOU HAVE 10 BUFFS ONLY 9 WILL WORK. DO NOT BUY MORE THAN 9 buffs!
(3x 10@ shirts is 9 buffs)
Part 3: Upgrades
This is one of the most important sections of this guide, so pay attention!
You can make a $500 custom from scratch, and still be beat out by some of the existing customs in the vendors on the server. The stats, damage, and statuses these weapons have are enough to make you dream of having an awesome custom like that.
Well there is a way you can make it happen, for a slightly larger fee, of course.
If you want a simple, cheap, haste ranged wep, shirt, or trink, then dont worry about this section, but if your willing to dish out the cash for an epic weapon, read on.
Any item existing on the server can be converted into a custom weapon, how? By using the upgrade tab on the Weapon maker.
Whats it cost? If your upgrading a custom you already made, nothing, except for the stats you want to add.
If your upgrading a weapon that you bought from a vendor, such as the VIP0-5 Lava spine, or other weapon. The minimum is 30$ (the weapon maker minimum) Plus 10$ for upgrading the item into a custom.
This means that for 40$ plus an ingame weapon, you can have a 1.0 speed 1h weapon, with increased stats.
Alright, ready to roll? Looking on how to do this? Well here it is.
1. Design a weapon using the weapon maker, picking 1.0 speed, the design, name, stats you want.
2. donate 10$ to your character, Under the Freedom/Transfer Option (only if your upgrading a non-custom weapon such as a glaive)
3. Add in your description that you want the stats added to your existing weapon, and to remove the VC you donated for to pay the upgrade fee. (Or copy and paste the stats you wish to add in an email, and donate the entire price of the custom + 10$ in the freedom/transfer option)
Also!!! Ask the admins to remove the minimum damage! if you have 200-400k dps, you'll end up with 300k dps instead of 400. Do not forget!
Then just sit back, and wait for your custom. (1-3 days for custom to be made and sent to your item receiver)
Part 4: Other Customs
If your lookin for a trinket, tabard, or custom looking armor, this is where you go.
Simply Pick the stats you want (Remember 3.9 speed!!!) type in the description what you want the item to be, and submit it!
Remember, you may also turn other items into custom tabards, trinkets, etc. but you must follow the same rules (+10 fee) as the upgraded weapons follow.
NOTE: YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE SLOT THE ITEM GOES INTO ANYMORE. (shirt customized must be a shirt, ring must be ring...)
